We are your local, friendly veterinary practice in the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area. Ambivet was established over 25 years ago by the partners, John Bailey and Heather Benbow and now have four surgeries, all dedicated to providing caring and professional services for your pets. At Ambivet we provide all our own out of hour care with an experienced vet and nurses available through the night.
Our Heanor hospital is open for routine consultations 7 days a week and provides full hospitalisation facilities and 24 hour nursing staff for clients from all our branches.
History
Founded in 1979, by the partners John Bailey and Heather Benbow, Ambivet has provided exemplary veterinary care for over three decades. Since the opening of our first surgery, a modest shop conversion in Ripley, Ambivet has undergone continual development and now provides treatment to thousands of patients across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Our central hospital, opened on 4th April 1990, was formerly an NHS maternity unit in Heanor, Derbyshire. Today it sees a multitude of pets, from Afghan Hounds to African Greys, and is the base for our out of hours care.
Over ten years later, we established the Nottingham sites – proudly opening our Aspley and Wollaton clinics in February 2001 and May 2002.
Most recently, we said goodbye to our original Ripley surgery and relocated to a state of the art facility in the town centre. The spacious, purpose-built clinic opened it’s doors on 4th July 2011.
Present Day
Our 12-strong team of dedicated veterinary surgeons have a wealth of experience in a number of specialised fields. Offering medical and surgical care of the highest quality, we are committed to treating every case with expertise and sensitivity.
To achieve this end, we are constantly updating the equipment and facilities. Current facilities include:
